This Sunday afternoon is our second Amazing Harvest Festival in the Church/School parking lot. Dolores Eichelberger and her committee have been working tirelessly on all the details. There are many more games, activities and entertainment available this year for all ages. The food trucks are making a return appearance as well as this year our CYO Hoagies will be available for purchase. You won’t miss the Eagles game either, as a large screen is being set up to cheer them on to victory. Bring a canned good to donate for the Saint Vincent DePaul Pantry. It will be an enjoyable and entertaining time for everyone. Be sure to take time Sunday afternoon between 1 and 6 pm to check out and enjoy all that will be happening. Harvest Festival Programs are available at Church entrances.
We know that the set up for this family focused and almost entirely free Harvest Festival involves some sacrifice with parking for the 10:30 and Noon Masses. We are grateful for your flexibility and understanding in that regard. Our PREP classes have begun. We are grateful to the PREP Office Staff and the innumerable volunteer Catechists who give of their time and commitment to share the Faith with our young disciples. Sharing and teaching about Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, is truly a blessing in every way. The work that takes place week after week is truly inspiring.
Our new Facilities Manager, Ted Locker, has been following up on the work slated for the steps leading down to Locust Street as well as the drainage project in that area. He has been able to get additional bids for the replacement of the steps, railing and lighting, which will help bring this project to a completion. We are trying to have it all accomplished before winter sets in, of course.
Our Walking With Purpose and ChristLife Series will begin anew. These programs, which are very engaging and helpful to being more passionate disciples of the Lord, are well worth taking the time to investigate. For more information, contact the Parish Office and the parish staff will have someone reach out to you.
Our RCIA program is beginning as well. This is the weekly series for those interested in learning more about becoming Catholic as well as for Catholic Adults who may need to receive Confirmation.
We have a wonderful team. Meetings are Thursday evenings at 7 pm, in the Kateri Meeting Room, which is located in the modular building between the parish office and school buildings. No pre-registration is required, just stop by.
I leave tomorrow for my annual five-day retreat. I will be keeping all of you, your intentions and your loved ones in my prayers. Please pray for me! Thank you!
God bless you, God love you,
