We welcome to Saint Eleanor, Elizabeth Calabro, our new Director of Sacred Music. This is her first weekend here and we are very happy to welcome her to our Parish Family. She will speak at all our Masses next weekend but in the meantime be sure to introduce yourself to her this weekend. She already has had the opportunity to meet with the members of our Liturgy Committee and Pastoral Council.
We also welcome back this weekend, Alessandro Giardini, our Seminarian Acolyte who was with us last summer and continues with us through this school year on Thursdays.
Alessandro will be speaking at all the Masses this weekend regarding the annual Seminary Appeal. You received a packet of materials in the mail with information on how to make your donation. We also included an extra envelope in the parish mailed packet of Sunday envelopes as a back-up. Besides mailing your donation in directly or contributing online, you may place your contributions to the Seminary Appeal in next weekend’s second collection. Your prayers and financial support is vitally necessary and deeply appreciated! Check the video on the narthex monitor.
Sunday afternoon, our families with children making First Sacraments or Confirmation will gather together in our Church for Sacrament Sunday. It is an opportunity to focus on our efforts to be disciples of the Lord who share the joys of the Gospel with our younger members. Our guest speakers include Sister Janet Baker, RSM, and Patrick and Michelle Boyle. Of course, packets of vital information about each ceremony will be handed out to the parents as well. Please keep these young disciples and their families in your kind prayers as they prepare to receive such abundant blessings from our Lord.
We finally have made visible progress in the efforts to construct additional drainage across the driveway near the steps that lead to Locust Street. The materials to be imbedded into the concrete steps will arrive shortly and if the weather co-operates the steps will be installed quickly thereafter. It has been a very tough project to accomplish but I believe that the costs have been contained.
While focusing on the material side of things, we sprung a leak in the music room wall last Sunday evening. It was in one of the heating pipes and was quickly repaired. As the saying goes… it never ends.
God bless you, God love you,
