Happy November! We remember in a special way all our departed brothers and sisters throughout this month. We pray for their eternal rest and perfect happiness with our loving Father in heaven. At the Noon Mass this weekend, we will have our annual Mass of Remembrance for all those who died this past year. It is always a touching celebration.
November also is the beginning of the annual Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary Appeal. You should have received a direct mailing in your homes for this appeal. Also, there is a back-up envelope in your bi-monthly packet for the Seminary Appeal. For convenience, we will have a second collection on the weekend of November 16-17 for you to make your donation or you can mail it in directly. Next weekend, we look forward to welcoming back Chris Massaro, one of our Philadelphia seminarians, who will speak at all the Masses. Chris was one of the seminarians who visited here on the Biking Tour for Vocations last August. Thank you in advance for your generous support of the Seminary Appeal.
During the month of November and early December we are seeking nominations for the Parish Pastoral Council. The Pastoral Council has moved into a nominating and discernment process for potential new members. Nominees need to be registered members of Saint Eleanor. Those interested in participating in this nominating and discernment process with a view of potentially becoming a member of the Pastoral Council, are asked to leave your name, address, phone number and email address at the Parish Office by December 8. Someone will follow up personally with more details.
The Pastoral Council is a consultative body of active and interested parishioners who share their talents and insights to help build up our parish family as a community of worship, prayer, and service. They share their knowledge of the needs, gifts and resources of our parish family and advise and assist in planning so that we can implement our mission and grow as disciples. They meet about six times a year. Please pray for our Pastoral Council members and for those who are interested in serving our Parish in this ministry.
A short update ~ we have had three contractors come out to look at the scope of work for our Confessional project. We are waiting to receive their bids for the work. We want to keep this project moving along to complete it as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your vibrant faith, generous fidelity and caring compassion!
God bless you, God love you,
